In 2025, I’ll truly dedicate myself to crocheting. It’s become my cherished time for self-care. Crocheting is incredibly soothing and enjoyable, especially when creating pieces I love. You might be curious how I learned to crochet. It all began during my pregnancy when my mother-in-law introduced me to the basics. From there, I turned to YouTube to expand my skills. Although my first attempts were quite frustrating, I persevered and gradually mastered the fundamental stitches and techniques.
I have recently watched a large number of YouTube crochet tutorials, and I found that some of them are quite challenging to follow. This is either because the instructors speak very quickly or perhaps because my brain gets easily overwhelmed and confused by the information being presented. You might be wondering why I didn’t simply read a blog post or written instructions instead. The reason is that I am a visual learner, and I prefer to work on a crochet project while watching a video, which helps me understand the techniques better and stay engaged throughout the process.
The very first crochet project I ever completed was a charming little turtle. You might be curious about why I decided to start with a turtle for my very first attempt. The reason behind my choice is quite simple and heartfelt: I absolutely adore turtles, and they happen to be beloved by my husband and child as well. The tutorial I used to guide me through the process was created by Crochet by Genna. Genna’s tutorials are truly outstanding—she presents the information in a clear and detailed manner, with a perfect pace that is easy to follow. After finishing the turtle, my second project was an adorable octopus, and I must say, creating the octopus was incredibly enjoyable and satisfying. If you are new to crochet and eager to learn, I highly recommend checking out YouTube tutorials as a great way to get started and build your skills with helpful visual guidance.

I make a lot of amigurumi, and my daughter sells them at trade day. I also sell them online or in person at various events. It is incredibly fun and fulfilling to sell something that I have personally created. Watching people smile and seeing how happy they are to have one of my creations brings me pure joy and a deep sense of satisfaction.
Thank you all so much for being here and for taking your times to read my post. Have a blessed day.
