Equipment

  • 1 lb Shrimp You can use any size of shrimp that you prefer.
  • 1 cup Asparagus cut into serving pieces about 2-1 inches, depending on your preferences.
  • 1 Lemon We need to juice and a little bit of the zest.
  • 1 Stalk Green Onions You can cut this uniform to your Asparagus.
  • 1 Small Onions Slice
  • 3 Cloves Garlic Chopped
  • 1 tbps Oyster Sauce optional
  • 1 tbps Corn Starch Mix in 1-2 tablespoon of water
  • 2-3 tbps Water To add with the Shrimp before adding the cornstarch mixture.
  • 2-3 tbsp Olive Oil Any oil will do
  • 3 tbsp Butter To add taste on the dish
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Heat the skillet and add your oil. Allow it to get hot before proceeding.
  • Once the oil is heated, add the onions and garlic. Sauté them for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally, and make sure the garlic doesn’t burn.
  • Next, toss in the asparagus, shrimp, green onions, and season with black pepper and salt to taste. Stir everything together until the ingredients are well combined.
  • At this point, add the oyster sauce. If you don’t have oyster sauce, no problem—just add the lemon juice instead.
  • For an extra burst of flavor, you can add lemon zest, but this step is optional.
  • Pour in 2–3 tablespoons of water, stir well, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • While the shrimp cooks, mix the water and cornstarch in a small bowl until smooth and fully combined.
  • After 10 minutes, add the cornstarch mixture and butter to the skillet. Stir everything thoroughly.
  • Let it simmer for a few more minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and the cornstarch to fully cook.

Notes

You can easily double this recipe and include this to your meal planning. When I make this dish I normally double the recipe that way I have something to prep for the week. Also, substitute any of the ingredients to your liking, if you are allergic to Shrimp you can use chicken, or beef, and if you do not eat any meat at all, simply use tofu.
